This Blog post is written in the context of running a Raffle and using an Email Workflow to send out Emails to Winners, but the setup will be relatively exactly the same regardless of what you are trying to do.
Kademi offers a variety of ways to control journeys and workflows and we'll be going over two straighfoward methods in this post, the Stop/Go and TImer Goals. We can use these methods to hold a journey in place and review any details about it if necessary.
Stop/Go
The Stop/Go goal can be used to stop a journey for all participants at a particular point and then start it again from that point at your leisure.
In our example, we will be modifying an existing journey by putting Stop/Go node between the shopping cart and send email nodes. This will let us review for any issues or problems with the cart.
Since our Send Email action is no longer linked to the Cart node, then we'll need to use a different KCode if we want to display information from the cart. Below is an example of including the list of product titles from the cart in the email.
We can review the leads in the journey, by going to Groups & Users > Journeys, you can view the leads for every journey. You can then click on the edit icon to view more details on each lead.
When reviewing the leads page, you can manually advance the journey for the lead by clicking on the play button underneath the Automation Control and then selecting the goal you would like the lead to be moved to. Note you can move forward or backwards in a journey by using this but it's possible to perform the previous action or email again so make sure you know what you are doing.
Another option is to go to the Stop/Go settings and hit the GO! button but this will advance the journey for ALL users that have reached this point so make sure that is what you intend do so beforehand.
And that's all there is to it. The Stop/Go node is an easy way to have control over your journeys but requires manual action from an administrator to start the journey again. For something more hands-off, we can look at our next method.
Timer Goal
The timer goal allows you to set a timer that will stop the journey and automatically continue the journey again after a configured timer. The way to set it up is exactly the same as the Stop/Go node. The only difference is that you'll have to configure a timer beforehand.
