Recognition Badges

Recognition badges are core to channels, employee engagement, achievements, and self-reward. A business strategy, They allow companies to focus and measure their goals and initiatives. Badges help staff feel needed in the organization and to know what actions or behaviors the company most values.

Staff can send official thanks to each other for the good work they do or the risks they take. Each recognition is accompanied by a recognition badge. They can be symbolic of anything you want and administrators can make any number of them, staff collect badges and can view which badges they have received on their user profile for every achievement accomplished, once a certain amount of badges have been obtained, they can receive rewards for their hard work.

Go to the marketplace

You need to install applications on your website

  • Go to website manager, select website

  • Click on the settings button of your website

  • Next click on find more apps

Search for an application called K-Recognition

Install K-recognition so you can create badges

Creating a recognition topic

  • Go to Recognition

  • Next, click Create 
     - This will create a recognition topic

  • Code: add a code name that will stay static
     - If you change this code, you will create problems for your website 

  • Title: add a meaningful title
    - You can change this multiple times

  • Save

Adding badges to a topic

  • Click, add badge
  • Code: add a code name that will stay static
     - If you change this code, you will create problems for your website 

  • Title: add a meaningful title
    - You can change this multiple times

  • Save

Adding an image to your badge

  • Click on,  upload image button to add an image for your badge

Create a recognition journey for the badges to be awarded

This instance, we will create a progression journey for an e-learning programme with modules, when a user finishes a module, they can receive a badge and when finishing the programme.

  • Go to Groups & users

  • Next, click Journeys

  • Click, Create a Journey 

Add a meaningful name

Define the properties of your journey

  • Go to properties

  • Add the leads group you require

  • Save

Building the journey

  • Click on, Journey Builder

  • Drop and drag nodes from the nodes list

  • Add meaningful titles to each node

  • Link each node so they can achieve the required outcome desired.

Editing module progress node

  1. Click on the setting button to edit the module progress node

  2. Add the website domain name

  3. Go to e-learning, look up the program code and paste the code

  4. Go to e-learning, look up the course code and paste the code

  5. Go to e-learning, look up the module code and paste the code

  6. These are the allowable values for action, simply copy and paste to initialize the functions

            MODULE_STARTED, - fired when a module has been started
            MODULE_COMPLETE, - fired when a module has been completed
            MODULE_LANGUISHING, - fired when a module has been started, but not completed after some time
            MODULE_SAVED, - Called when a module is updated by the learner
            RENEWAL, - when a completed module enters its renewal period
            EXPIRED,- when a completed module expires
            SUBMITTED, - when a learner submits a module, eg an assignment, or attends an ILT class
  7. Save

Editing the award badge

  • Click on the setting button to edit the award badge node

  • Select the topic

  • Select the badge to award

  • Save

Add the badges component to a webpage

  • Click on Content

  • Go to edit web pages

  • Select a page and click on the edit button

 

Add the badges component

  • Add a container

  • Next, go to components

  • In the component search list - search for badges

  • Add the badges component to the container

 

  • Click on the settings button on the badges component

  • Add the badges topic you created from recognition

  • Add extra settings that you require

  • Save

Next, we will do a test for the Recognition Journey

Log into a test user account

You are going to test the recognition journey by completing a module in the e-learning programme,  the journey will do actions like rewarding a badge once the user has completed the module.

  • Go to Groups & users

  • Next, click Users

  • Select a user that is in the correct group for the training

  • Click on the edit button

  • Select login as user

Testing that badges work correctly

The box highlighted has no badges earned. we will start an e-learning module and finish it to be rewarded with a badge.

This example the user clicks on training on their dashboard to start the training and quiz test.

Badges have been awarded and are showing on your dashboard
