Applications in Kademi need to be updated on a regular basis to ensure you are using the latest features, security, and enhancements. Kademi releases updates to applications every 1-2 weeks.

Applications need to be updated in your Kademi account, and in each website. We recommend doing this every few months.

 

Updating account apps

It is recommended that you update account applications during a quiet time. Updating apps in your account will apply the updates to your Kademi admin account immediately. This will not affect your websites, as they need to be updated separately.

To update applications at the account level, go to Website Manager, then Apps.

Click Update all.

Click OK to confirm.

The changes will be applied to your Kademi account immediately.

Updating website apps

Updates need to be applied to each individual website in your account – updating one website will not update them all.

When updating website apps in a live site, it is very important to do this in a new site version. Updates to your website may change the way certain things look or work, so it is essential to test the updates and make any necessary changes before making them available to site users. Learn more about versioning here.

To update applications in a website, go to Website Manager, then Websites.

Click the settings icon next to the website you want to update the applications in.

If you are editing a live site, create a new site version to apply the updates in.

Click the current site version, then click the copy icon next to the live version.

Give the new site version a name, then select the new version to edit it.

Select the app settings tab.

Click Update all.

Test the new version of the site thoroughly to ensure you are happy with the changes, then click Publish to make the new site version available.

Confirm the change to the new site version by clicking Publish Now.

The updates will now be applied to the live website.
