There can be a lot to remember when setting up a program in Kademi, so we’ve created a handy checklist to help remind you of some of the important steps.
Getting started
- Create a new subaccount and navigate to the admin console
- Set timezone, country and localisation
- Force HTTPS on your Kademi account
- Install solution or create website
- Add administrators
Program Setup
- Install required applications
- Map Organizational hierarchy
- Add Organization Types
- Add Groups and configure roles and any extra fields
- Create a sales data series (if relevant)
- Set up point allocation sources (if relevant)
- Set up recognition content including leaderboards and targets (if relevant)
- Create promotions (if relevant)
- Configure journeys and workflows
- Add products to site and set their price in store (if relevant)
Site Setup
- Select and install website theme
- Create additional pages
- Apply branding to site
- Edit the menu and footer
- Edit page titles
- Add content to site
- Configure site visibility for groups/organization types (if relevant)
- Add favicon to site
- Optimize site for mobile view (if relevant)
Domain configuration
- Purchase and configure domain
- Request and install SSL certificate
- Configure SPF & DKIM records
- Make DNS entries for email and set up email inbox if relevant
- Set up www redirect for website
Security
- Check for administrator permissions on participant groups
- Configure a minimum password length policy for administrators
- Set up 2FA on admin accounts
- Force HTTPS on websites
- Update website Content Security Policies (if relevant)
- Set up captcha
- Set X-frame options to Deny
- Check that the Public group does not have access to pages that require authorization
- Change internal site access e.g. KCRM to Private
Getting ready to launch
- TEST EVERYTHING THOROUGHLY!!!
- Remember it is important to test with test participant accounts - do not use administrator accounts to test website functionality!
- Ensure all applications are up to date and schedule a time to update the apps regularly
- Remove test users/organizations and test data
- Add organizations
- Add users
- Add sales/add points (if relevant)
- Invite your users!
